Critique Day make up work

Here is an example of work a student might do if he/she misses a day in class where we critique student artwork.

Name: ______________________________ today’s date:__________________  period: _____________

I missed critique day!

If you missed critique day, this is how you can make up the grade. You will need a copy of this paper and access to the Internet.

There are four options of galleries of art for viewing: Colonial, 19th century, Modern, or Contemporary. PICK ONE, and click on the image. Now, you should be at a webpage with a selection of artworks.  Select an artwork that you would like to critique, and fill in the information below:

Artist’s name: _______________________________________________________________________

Name of the selected artwork: ____________________________________________________

Date of artwork: ____________________________________________________________________

Now, answer the following questions about the selected work of art:

1.     Describe what you see. Give details. (Four sentence minimum.)  _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

2.     In your opinion, why do you think the artist created this work of art?
(Do not tell me what you read on the website. I want YOUR opinion.)
